Testimonials

President Sharon Bond and Junior Director Darren Bailhache - Hallett Cove & Districts Lions ClubSharon Bond – Immediate Past President (2025)

For the past 12 years I have been associated with the Lions Club of Hallett Cove and moved into a Board position in 2022 and to President for the incoming period of 2024/25. The Lions Club of Hallett Cove is the heart beat of community spirit in Hallett Cove and surrounding areas. The giving spirit of the Club drew me to become a member and immerse myself in the community and the assistance we, as a club, could bring. The positive culture of the club and the enthusiasm of its members and their acceptance of me as a new member and now moving into the seat of President has been nothing short of amazing. To be able to take part in fundraising to provide a therapy dog to someone in desperate need, or a wheelchair to a young community member feeds my soul and brightens my life, knowing my contribution can help those in such desperate situations. Moving into the role of President will further enhance my contribution and allow me to further plan and coordinate future projects for our club so the benefit to the community is broadened. To anyone looking to add community service to their lives, I urge you to look at joining a Lions Club. The role we play in a community is immense and regardless of nationality, sexuality or age, everyone is welcome.

Darren Bailhache – Junior Director

In 2022 I was looking for an organisation that would allow me to contribute back to the community as a volunteer. I discovered many amazing community volunteer oriented organisations, however Lions stood out for their incredible capacity to reach all spectrums of society. After joining Hallett Cove Lions and Districts, I became immersed in the culture, vitality and community engagement the club offered, so much so that in 2023 I joined the clubs Board Of Management. This has allowed me to play a role in the planning and direction of the vital work undertaken by the membership. The club offers endless opportunities and I would urge anyone considering joining the team, to take the plunge and enjoy the gift of giving back to the community.

History

We are currently locating a few lost details from our club’s history. Our goal is to create a comprehensive archive that honours every individual who has served on our board since our founding. As historical records can be challenging to locate, this remains an evolving project. In the meantime, we invite you to view our original club charter and join us in acknowledging the leadership and contributions of our past Presidents. Please help us fill the gaps! If you have any old photographs, newsletters, or stories tucked away in a drawer, we would love to hear from you. Please Contact our Secretary or drop by the club to help us preserve our shared heritage.
